Overview
This course (PC 101) is about building life skills for success. You are not alone — you have instructors, mentors, missionaries, and resources to help you. Success in this course depends heavily on communication, effort, and using available tools.
Step 1: Understand the Course
Watch intro videos (welcome + course overview). Know that this course is designed to help you learn life skills, prepare for future coursework, and grow personally and spiritually.
Step 2: Know Where to Get Help
Academic Help
Instructor (primary support), Resource Center (math + writing help), Announcements and Inbox in Canvas.
Technical Help
Friends/family (quick help), Mentor, Instructor (if course issues).
Other Help
Missionaries (gatherings + support), BYU-Pathway Portal (registration, tuition, etc.).

Step 3: Communicate
Communication is one of the most important skills for online learning. Check regularly: email, Canvas Inbox, BYU-Pathway Portal. When asking for help, be clear, be specific, and use available resources.
Step 4: Learn Canvas
Main Tools
Modules — where you complete work (go in order). Announcements — important updates. Grades — feedback + scores. Inbox — communication.
Always go through Modules, not shortcuts like calendar/to-do.
Step 5: Understand Weekly Structure
Each week includes: Devotional (spiritual motivation), Lesson (life skills), Writing Prep (practice writing skills), Math Prep (practice math skills), Gathering (weekly group meeting), and Assessments (application activities and quizzes, math exams).
Assignments and Dates
Due Date — when it must be submitted. Available From — when it opens. Until — when it closes.
Grades and Feedback
Check all feedback areas: Grade (score), Rubric (how it was graded), Comments (instructor feedback), Annotations (notes on your work).
